Cross Training for Lent
Cross Training Intergenerational Programs for Lent Wednesdays at 5:30 pm Cross Training in athletics is to practice a variety of exercises to achieve fitness and strength of the entire body. At Saint Francis UMC, we believe a multidisciplinary practice is also important for the total health of our spiritual bodies. In Cross Training we will follow the example of the early church described in Acts 2, who spent their time together in study, worship, breaking bread, and fellowship
There are three parts to Cross Training:
 - 5:30 pm, dinner
 - 6:30 pm, praise music and worship , and
 - 7:00 pm, an intergenerational program for kids, youth and adults (Bible study option for youth and adults).

The Revelation Revealed!

On three of the Mondays of Lent, March 1, 15, and 22, at 7:00 pm, the Rev. Dr. James  "Mickey" Efird will educate Saint Francis UMC members and friends about the truth of the inspired Word of God. Dr. Efird served as Professor of Biblical Interpretation at the Duke Divinity School for more than 40 years. He has authored 13 books and more than 60 articles and papers. Despite his profound Biblical knowledge and critical expertise, Dr. Efird presents the scripture with clarity and levity that engages the PhD and the neophyte alike. Various congregations have used his series of videotape lectures for small group study of books of the Bible or the series of audio CDs for individual study.
Dr. Efird will present his most popular teaching series this year. We will study the book of The Revelation to John, untangling much of the misinterpretation and sensationalism that surrounds this mysterious and disputed apocalyptic work. If you have always wanted to know the truth from the hype, this is a study that you will not want to miss.
